Better World Ed is a teacher platform. We collect only what teachers need for their practice. We never collect data on children. We don't sell anything. You own your notes and journeys. We use Supabase for auth and storage, Stripe for payments, and nothing else.
When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and school name. We store the notebook entries, journeys, and film history you create on the platform. These are yours.
We collect standard server logs (IP address, browser type, page visits) for performance and security. These are not linked to your profile.
If you subscribe, Stripe handles payment processing. We never see or store your full card number.
Better World Ed is a tool for teachers. Children watch films in your classroom. They do not create accounts, log in, or submit any data to our platform. We have no mechanism for collecting data from people under 18.
We do not sell your data. We do not run ads. We do not use your notebook entries or reflections to train AI models. We do not share your data with third parties for marketing.
We do not use tracking pixels, third-party analytics cookies, or behavioral ad networks.
Your account data is used to provide the service: personalize your practice space, save your notes and journeys, and manage your subscription. That's it.
If you use AI features (notebook reflection, intention portal, journey builder), the text you type is sent to Anthropic's API to generate a response. This is a request-response call -- we do not store the content you send to the AI beyond your own saved notes. Anthropic's API data practices apply to these calls.

We do not share your data with any other parties. If we are required by law to disclose data, we will notify you unless prohibited from doing so.
COPPA: The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act applies to services directed at children under 13. Better World Ed is directed at teachers and adult educators, not children. Children do not create accounts or submit data through our platform.
FERPA: We do not receive student education records. Teacher accounts may reference their classrooms in notes or reflections, but this is under the teacher's control and is not shared with us as structured data.
If your school or institution requires a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) before teachers can use the platform, email us and we'll work with you on it.
You can download all your data (notes, journeys, film history) from Account Settings at any time. You can delete your account and all associated data from Account Settings. Deletion is permanent and processed within 30 days.
If you're in the EU or UK, you have rights under GDPR including access, correction, deletion, and portability. Contact us at the address below to exercise these rights.
Better World Ed is provided by Reweave, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. You may use the platform for educational, personal, and professional development purposes.
You may not use the platform to distribute, resell, or republish our content. The films, lesson guides, and people's stories belong to the people in them and to Reweave, Inc. You may share links to story pages.
We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these terms. We'll always tell you why.
We may update these terms from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated by email to account holders.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.
